Our Doctors

Gympie Radiology, opposite the Gympie Private Hospital, is the largest radiology clinic in the Gympie, Mary Valley and Wide Bay region. Established by Dr Drew McMenamin and Dr Todd Malone, we are proud to introduce the latest in radiological equipment, techniques and dose reduction technology to the region.

Our radiologists

Dr Drew McMenamin - Managing Radiologist

Drew graduated from the University of Queensland in 1999, before completing his radiology training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. After being awarded the Uhr Clarke Bursary by the RANZCR in 2006, Drew undertook further training in MRI at the Gold Coast Hospital before completing US fellowships in Musculoskeletal and Sports Imaging at the University of Washington, and Breast Imaging and Breast MRI at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. He completed his Level B CT Coronary Angiography Accreditation in 2010. Drew is a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland.

Drew’s main interests are Musculoskeletal, Breast Imaging and Interventional Radiology.

Dr Todd Malone - Managing Radiologist

Todd graduated from the University of Tasmania before completing his specialist training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. He then undertook an MRI fellowship at the Mater and Greenslopes Private Hospitals in Brisbane with Queensland X- Ray. Since then he has worked in private practice. Todd's main interests are MRI & Musculoskeletal Imaging.

Dr Li Enn Yapp

Dr Yapp graduated from the University of Adelaide with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2007 and was awarded with a Fellowship to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2015.

His radiology training was based at the Royal Adelaide Hospital as well as rotations through Flinders Medical Centre, Women’s & Children’s, Royal Darwin and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals.

Dr Yapp enjoys all aspects of general radiology with particular subspecialty interests in musculoskeletal imaging and breast imaging.

He has completed a Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship with I-MED Regional Imaging at Calvary Hospital in Hobart.

Visiting radiologists

Dr Jessica Wong

Jessica graduated from the University of Auckland and then completed her radiology training in Auckland, New Zealand.

She was Chief Registrar of the Auckland Training Programme in 2016. She has been awarded prizes for her research into CT enterography winning both the Philips Healthcare Australasia Scientific Paper Prize in 2013 and the William A Cook Registrar Award in 2015. She completed further MRI training prior to completing a Musculoskeletal Fellowship with Noosa Radiology. Jessica is a general radiologist with an interest in Breast Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging & Intervention.

Dr Andrew Paszkowski

Andrew graduated from the University of Sydney before completing his specialist training at St George Hospital. He then spent 12 months undergoing post-fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine and PET at Emory University Atlanta. He has undertaken further mini-fellowships in PET at St Thomas' Hospital London and in CTCA at Monash Institute, Melbourne. He has worked in private practice on the Sunshine Coast since 1998 and opened the first Nuclear facility in Gympie in 2010. Andrew's main interests include Cardiac Imaging, Sports Medicine & Oncology.

Dr Angus MacKinnon

Angus graduated from the Universityof Sydney before completing his radiology training at Westmead Hospital, Sydney. He then undertook Musculoskeletal MRI and Cardiac fellowships at Calvary Hospital, Hobart. Angus's main interests are MRI and Musculoskeletal Imaging.

Kyle Grabowski

Kyle graduated from medical school in Christchurch and Dunedin before undertaking 5-years of radiology training in Auckland. He has recently completed a Musculoskeletal Fellowship with Noosa Radiology. 

Kyle is a general radiologist with an interest in Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention.

Lisa Tarlinton

Dr Lisa Tarlinton is a dual qualified Radiologist and Nuclear Medicine Specialist. After graduating with Honours in Medicine and Surgery from the University of New South Wales, she completed dual specialty training in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Dr Tarlinton received the RANZCR 2012 Thomas Baker Prize to pursue subspecialty fellowship training in Body Oncology Imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center New York City in 2013/2014 and Nuclear Medicine fellowship training at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center New York City in 2012/2013. Dr Tarlinton also underwent subspecialty training in prostate MRI with Professor Jelle Barentsz at Radboudumc, Nijmegen Netherlands to become an Expert Prostate MRI Reader. She graduated with an EMBA from the University of Sydney in 2011, was the Clinical Director of San Radiology and Nuclear Medicine (SRNM) for a 3 year tenure followed by a 2 year role as the inaugural SRNM Head of Clinical and Research Prostate Imaging and Supervising Radiologist for PET CT. Dr Tarlinton sat on the board as a Director of the Australian Association of Nuclear Medicine Specialists (AANMS) for 8 years and was Director on the Research Committee at Sydney Adventist Hospital.

Andrew Baird

Originally from QLD, Andrew trained at PA Hospital in Brisbane, and following acceptance into RANZCR he undertook a diagnostic Neuroradiology fellowship in Perth at NIISWA (Neurological Imaging and Intervention Service of WA) in 2015. In 2016 he moved to Albury to undertake an MSK fellowship with I-Med and remained as a consultant radiologist in Albury with I-Med from 2017 to current.

Stephen McDonald

Stephen graduated from Sydney University in 2014. Following internship and residency, he undertook 5 years radiology training and then was a staff specialist radiologist at Concord Hospital, with rotations to Canterbury, RPA, Westmead, Westmead children’s hospital, Orange Hospital. From 2022 Stephen has worked in various locations in Sydney and western NSW with private radiology groups and completed his Musculoskeletal Fellowship with Noosa Radiology in 2023.
