Medical Imaging Receptionist

Gympie Radiology is the largest independently owned radiology clinic in the Wide Bay/Gympie region. Doctor-owned, we are committed to delivering high quality imaging and patient-focused care by remaining at the forefront of new imaging techniques to benefit our doctors, referrers and patients.

Our practice is located in Gympie, less than two hours from Brisbane and serviced by Sunshine Coast Airport, just 60 minutes from the practice. Nestled in the middle of the breathtaking Great Sandy Biosphere, Gympie and the Wide Bay region has a lot to offer. It has a relaxed lifestyle with beautiful beaches and waterways, excellent schools and facilities, and is a stone’s throw away from the world’s largest sand island K’Gari (Fraser Island).

Gympie Radiology provides a comprehensive range of imaging and procedural services to the Gympie and Wide Bay community in one clinic including MRI, CT, Nuclear Imaging, Breast Imaging, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, BMD, dental imaging and general x-ray. Our subspecialty imaging services include interventional procedures, cardiac imaging, sports and MSK imaging and obstetric imaging.

About the role

This is a multi-tasking, fast paced team player role, committed to providing knowledgeable and professional support for the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Duties

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Reception and general administration duties
  • Welcoming our patients and managing relevant paperwork
  • Scheduling and managing patient appointments
  • Following up medical information with referrers, eg: GP’s, specialists and third parties
  • Working alongside our great team of radiologists, radiographers, sonographers and administration team
  • Invoicing patient visits and receipting payments
  • Other duties as directed

Candidate requirements

  • Radiology and medical experience highly desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of Medicare, third parties and workers compensation
  • Excellent phone manner
  • Believe in, and model great patient service with kindness, empathy and respect in a calm manner
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Enjoy a fast-paced practice
  • Good computer skills with MS Office an advantage
  • Can multi-task, working alone and in a team
  • Excellent communication skills with patients and team members
  • Able to take instructions/directions
  • Can prioritise workload
  • Takes pride in their work and themselves
  • The ability to work flexible hours
